Concrete contractor in Fairhope, AL - driveways and patios built on a packed base
Quickset Mobile Concrete Company is a concrete contractor based in Mobile, AL, and we pour driveways, patios, foundations and steps for Fairhope homeowners, builders and small business owners over the bay.

Concrete work on Fairhope's side of the bay
Fairhope keeps building, and that's most of what brings us over the bay. We pour driveways and slabs for new houses in the subdivisions, replace tired walks and patios at older homes near downtown, and put in parking and walks for small shops. It's the same work we do in Daphne, and we take it as far as Moss Point across the Mississippi line.
What's under the concrete shapes the job here. The city's building office lists red clays and staining soils among its environmental concerns, and we find clay under plenty of Fairhope yards. Clay holds water and swells and shrinks with it, so we dig out the soft dirt and pack the subgrade, what the slab sits on, before any concrete arrives. That base work, how much old concrete has to come out, the size and thickness of the slab and how close a truck can get are what move your price. The weather and the cure, the wait while new concrete gains strength before you walk or drive on it, are what move the schedule. Your written estimate spells out what's included and what isn't.
What we pour in Fairhope
Concrete driveway building
Concrete driveway building: Driveways here carry cars, delivery trucks and sometimes a boat trailer, so we place rebar, the steel that holds the slab together, where that weight sits.
Concrete patio construction
Concrete patio construction: Plenty of newer Fairhope houses came with a small builder's patio out back, and we extend or replace it at a size your family will actually use.
Stamped concrete services
Stamped concrete services: Near downtown, where porches and brick walks set the look, stamped concrete gives an entry or patio the pattern of stone or brick at the pour.
Concrete sidewalk building
Concrete sidewalk building: We pour front walks, side paths to the backyard and storefront walks, set so water runs off and the edges sit flush with the lawn.
Garage floor concrete
Garage floor concrete: A garage floor on an older house is often cracked, stained or sunk at the door, and we can break it out and pour a new one.
Decorative concrete
Decorative concrete: Color, scored lines or an exposed-stone top let a slab match the house, whether it's a cottage near the bay or a new build.
Concrete retaining walls
Concrete retaining walls: Where a yard drops off or a lot was cut level, a concrete wall holds the dirt back, with drainage behind so water doesn't push it over.
Concrete floor installation
Concrete floor installation: Shops, sheds and work buildings need a floor that stays flat under shelving and equipment. We pour it level so doors swing and racks sit square.
Concrete pool decks
Concrete pool decks: Pool decks need a top that grips wet feet and stays comfortable barefoot, so we settle the texture and color with you before the pour.
Concrete steps construction
Concrete steps construction: Raised houses here often have tall front steps, and we form every riser to the same height so nobody catches a toe on the way up.
Slab foundation building
Slab foundation building: With new houses going up all over Fairhope, we pour slab foundations for builders and owners, on ground that's been dug, packed and checked first.
Foundation installation
Foundation installation: For additions and new buildings, we set the forms, steel and concrete and hand the framers a foundation that's level and square.
Concrete parking lot building
Concrete parking lot building: Small businesses and offices here need parking that sheds water and takes daily traffic, so we plan the slope before the first form goes in.
Concrete footings
Concrete footings: Footings are the wide concrete pads under walls, porches and additions. We dig them down to firm ground so what's built on top has something solid to sit on.
Foundation raising
Foundation raising: When part of a slab or an older house has dropped, we find out why first, because lifting it without fixing the cause only buys time.
Concrete cutting
Concrete cutting: We cut openings, trenches and clean edges in existing concrete, for a new door, a plumbing line or a section of driveway that has to come out.
Does your Fairhope driveway or patio need a look?
On Fairhope's clay, water working under the concrete is what usually undoes a slab, so these are worth checking on your driveway, patio, walk or garage floor.
- Cracks that keep getting wider
- One slab sitting lower than another
- Water pooling after a rain
- Chipping or a dusty, flaking top
- A gap opening along the house
- A patio tilting toward the door
If you spot one of these, call (251) 219-6382 or send the form, and I'll come out and show you what's likely causing it.
Should you fix the slab or start over?
On Fairhope's clay, the answer usually comes down to what's under the concrete, because a sound base with surface damage can be fixed, while a slab sinking with the dirt beneath it can't.
When a repair is enough
If the cracks are thin, the pieces still sit level and water runs off, the base underneath is usually fine. We can cut out and repour a bad section or raise a sunken piece and leave the sound concrete alone.
When it's time to replace
If the slab is broken up, sinking or tilting toward the house, the trouble is underneath and a patch won't last. We tear it out, rebuild the base and pour new. If money's tight, I'd cut the finish, not the base, because the base decides how long the slab lasts.
What Fairhope ground asks of a slab
I started this company in Mobile in 2013, and we still do it the way I learned, with the ground and the water right first and the reason explained to you.
Permits checked before we dig
The city's Building and Permitting office issues permits for generally any work over $100.00, so we check and handle the paperwork.
Licensed and insured, so ask
By the state rule's examples, a contractor you hire directly for over $10,000 needs a residential home builder's license, so ask every bidder.
Water sent away from your house
Before forming, we check where the water runs, so the slab falls away from your house and not toward it.
Cracks where we planned them
Control joints, grooves that tell cracks where to run, get cut on time so the slab cracks where we chose.
